| Empire No.1 is covered with genuine birds eye maple and the columns are turned from solid walnut burl. The capitals and column bases, are cast from molds pulled directly off of capitals and column bases from a French porticol dated 1804. The bezel and speaker grill are cast in pewter with a gold tone finish. The movement is a precision German quartz that plays a beautiful 4/4 Westminster chime. It can also play a bim-bam and chime out the hour. If you prefer the chimes can be programmed to turn off at night and resume in the morning. If you like, Empire No.1 can also be finished in other woods such as walnut, rosewood, cherry and mahogany to name a few. |
